So far so good...we are up and running at the 2010 SJFC/Nazareth Relay For Life!!  There are so many students/volunteers walking right now that the circle is completely full.  We have walkers, survivors and caretakers out there walking. 

Opening ceremonies had a Female Vocalist Group singing the national anthem and a friend of the committee, Molly, singing her own version of the song "Somewhere." 

Right now 'Big Tuna and the Fishermen' are on stage performing.  This is such a unique band, made up of staff and faculty members from St. John Fisher College.  I recall hearing these guys for the first time a few years ago at the Teddi Dance and they are great!

Stu and I are getting constant reminders about why it is that we were called on for this event.  The Luminaria portion of the event just wrapped up and if you have ever Relay'ed before you will understand just how powerful this portion of the event is.  Two students gave their stories of why they relay.  There wasn't a dry eye in the house!

We're getting a lot of requests for songs which is great!  It seems to be keeping everyone moving.  And let me be the first to tell you- we have played just about every genre you could imagine.  Everything from Lady Gaga to the Theme Song from 'The Lion King.'  We're glad to see everyone having such a great time. 

Gotta run, we have walkers/dancers to keep movin' and a groovin'!

So our internet source seemed to have a mind of it's own during the overnight hours.  Made it very difficult to load photos and keep going with our updates.  We are still new at this whole thing, but was a fun idea that we may carry over to some other events that we participate in here at Fisher.
